With the amount of posters and traffic TD gets daily now, this is a good thing and improves TD.

Do you really want movie/tv, food/drink, gaming, money, outdoor, political, music, threads and posters all on one board with the OT having its own threads, with all of those posters and traffic? Threads would be bumped off the first page so fast, it would be on the second page five seconds after you start it. It'd be like trying to cram 75% of reddit into one subreddit.

Yeah... I suppose the other boards have increased overall traffic to the point where it would be stupid to do away with them.

I don't think that those topics would necessarily bleed over into the OT otherwise. To what extent does the presence of specialized boards draw out specialized posters... and to what extent would those posters be hurt by eliminating their boards?

More importantly... the dumb arse topics wouldn't survive very long over here. The OT is the Australian Outback and the other boards are like the Cleveland frickin Zoo.
