The thing for me, is that our offense doesnt require a QB to have to have all the prototypical "physical tools" that a lot of NFL systems do.
What this Sean Payton offense needs is a guy that is very accurate and very smart. He needs to be able to do a lot of pre snap reads and checks. And once its snapped, make the proper read and be decisive with them. Get the ball out quick.
Because of the system that we run, Brees will be able to play longer than most people realize. And, that allows us a lot of freedom when ti comes to finding our QB after Brees. And its obvious we like Ryan Griffin a lot. The Rams and Bears both wanted to sign him from our practice squad when they were in need of a QB, but we promoted him to the game roster to block them from doing that. We wouldnt have done that if we didnt like him or think he can be the guy for the future.
But, we will see. We dont need to do anything right now, but we could. Who knows.

I'm going to go out on a limb and agree with this. We could be proven wrong, but, damn, you have to take a position.

I think this is definitely true, but I'm just not sure it's in the way that everybody thinks.. I think they like him a lot as maybe a good back up but I just don't see them thinking he is the future of the franchise. It's not very often that UDFA QBs go on to become good players.. in fact, I'm pretty sure there is only one that is even worth noting.
