Show and teach. Not really saying a bunch on the technical side. Instead of telling the player due to this, this will happen. Just show him with the swing and the ball flight.

I like to know why my mistakes are happening…its doesn't have to go into highly technical jargon but I need to know if i'm over plane, open face, hitting from outside, etc… if you pay attention and learn why certain mistakes are caused you can over time somewhat fix yourself (not all the time)
