I guess that's one of the things I find odd about the story. If the bag fit tightly enough to suffocate the dog, how'd he get it over the dog's head (without tearing the bag) in the first place?

If the roommate wants to go all Khmer Rouge on the dog, wouldn't he go into the kitchen and get a gallon ziplock, a garbage bag or even a plastic grocery bag? No, he chooses to kill the dog with a Cheetos bag from his roomie's headboard. WTF?!? These guys sound like assholes to me and the dog is probably better off dead, rather than living in squalor with these two dipshits. (And FYI - if you can't afford your very own place to live, you can't afford a dog.)
