Ran a little speed boat on its maiden voyage from Freeport to Galveston with my uncle. Had lunch at the Galveston Yacht Basin. Got drunk as shite. There was an announcement over the PA that a vessel was taking on water. We laughed at whatever poor unlucky bastard. The PA announced again further describing the vessel...OH frick...IT WAS OURS!
Hauled arse. Forgot to put in the plug.
Grabbed some beer mugs from guys at the nearest table (with beer still in them), jumped down in the boat and started bailing as fast as we could.

A few years ago I was launching my boat in my back yard and everything went fine. I thought I had done everything needed. Boat and trailer was in the water but the boat wasn't moving off the trailer. Some water coming over the transom bc of a tug boats wave. Then it hit. Left the fricking transom straps on!
