quote:
I imagine a world where a billionaire sets up a fight-to-the-death tournament where every loser's (i.e., KIA) family gets a consolation prize - say, $100,000; a life insurance bonus of sorts, to entice noble, family-oriented poors to enter - and the winner gets $100 million. Or, hell, $1 billion. The tournament would involve 64 (or 128 or 256, whatever) entrants and would take place over the course of one year, during which time fighters would have access to whatever training facilities and coaches they needed, all paid for by the tournament sponsor. An annual subscription to the fight channel could be made for $100 and could be watched anywhere in the world. If that were the case, you'd only need 10M subscribers worldwide to cover the $1B prize. This thing would easily generate an enormous profit.
I would EASILY for $100 for this type of tourney if the guys were all jacked trained fighters, not just some bums or skinny Africans.
