Ego and stupidity.

It is important to remember that 1/2 of the people are below average.

This is also why the Feds take their tax money every check. Can you imagine no withholding and the ensuing brouhaha if these people had to write a check once a year for the full amount? I digress, but I actually think this would be a good idea.
