17.5. Set your fence to were the 2x4 is standing up and the blade is set 1 5/8" high. The fence set point should be set just were the blade tip is hitting the outside edge of the 2x4. Pass it thru, swing it around and make a second pass on the other side.
Reset your fence and set your blade at 90. Blade height should be just enough to were it is cutting thru at the first cut in the 2x4. Pass it thru and then flip it over and around and pass it again.
Next, reset the fence and blade back to 17.5 and real high on the blade. With the 2x4 standing up, the fence set to were the blade is cutting just at the tip of the last cut. Pass it thru and flip it around and pass it thru again.
FYI. Best to use some scrap 2x4 for your first try. Also, don't try to work with anything longer then 4'. Every time I tried, the bow stems get screwed up.
