We've camped with ours since they were less than a year old. We started at Tickfaw a State Park. Air mattresses, very few toys, flashlights/glowsticks, favorite book, their pillows, and a nightlight. Peanut butter and jelly for dinner. Their favorite cereal for breakfast. It really wasn't that difficult. They were so occupied w nature that they were exhausted and sleeping by sundown.

For a 3 and 5, make sure to bring their bikes.

Tickfaw is very easy and only 45 minutes from BR. They have a nice playground and a small water splash park. All of the trails are on boardwalks, and most of them are short loops. They also have a great nature center with kid friendly activities. We never need many toys. They stay occupied the whole time.

Best $15 per night we've spent!

Great advice, we are going to Fountainbleu State park. Should be fun. I was thinking of bringing our beagle puppy but I think that may be a pain in the neck.
