Yes actually, I was in a near fatal car wreck 3 years ago on I-10 near LaPlace headed back to BR. I walked away without a scratch although I should probably be dead and ever since then I get vertigo crossing the spillway.

You may have developed Gephyrophobia--a phobia of bridges.
I think I have this a bit and it's getting worse. No traumatic incident happened to me, but over the years I have gradually started having slight panic attacks on high bridges, like the Horace Wilkinson (New) Bridge or even the 1-12W to 1-10E crossover at the split. I don't have problems with driving on the Bonnet Carre or the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge, just really high bridges. I even get nervous just thinking about driving over them. It sucks because I've lived all my life along the Mississippi River, and it feel likes I'm kind of trapped on one side. That's the only time I get vertigo, and I'm not even really afraid of heights.
