The rent around here is not cheap; you'll be looking at 1250 - 1500/month for a two bedroom apartment in the Cool Springs area.

Some newer and nicer apartments to check out in the Cool Springs area are The Venue (on Carothers), The Dwell (on McEwen), and The Bell (near downtown Franklin).
Wyndchase is a slightly cheaper option that is a little older but still ok; it's off Cool Springs Blvd. Alara/The Farms are close to this level too.
Another step down would be Viera.
Don't waste your time looking at Royal Oaks.
They are also currently building a lot of new apartment complexes, and many others in the works. Some may be new and available, depending on your move date.
