We have a couple mineral sites. One in particular they hit hard almost yuear round. It has the generic "Deer Cocaine" mix in it.
Never have done summer plots, did plant some rye over a few plots that were extremely bare this spring though. Mainly to keep some ground cover and maybe choke out a few weeds.
