But to Sylvester, an offering of different flavors is a “major red flag” that the product is being marketed to children, adding that banning e-cigarettes from LSU’s campus will help keep them out of the hands of children at the University Laboratory School and LSU Day Care Center.
“Those schools really are the primary targets for these things,” Sylvester said.

How many different flavors of beer are there? Bourbon? Vodka? Is the fact that Abita makes 19 flavors of beer evidence that Abita is primarily targeting children?

They're much better than regular cigs imo

But I've never really noticed a smell from vapor. There must be different kinds I'm not aware of.
My wife's cousin works for one of the ecig shops in Nola. I get to smell all sorts of crazy combinations they come up with. I guess it's just gotten old to me.

That goes for anything that smells. Keep your smells to yourself.
Exactly, Time to lock up everyone who doesn't use deodorant

So are you saying the nicotine is what causes cancer?

No
That's that I thought as well but looking at his post it looks to me that he's saying nicotine is a carcinogen.

And funnily enough, this is the first thing on my facebook feed.

Link? I don't think I read this one in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Like you, from what I understand, there were at least a couple things he said that didn't make sense to me. I don't think he knows what he's talking about.

Are the LSU daycare workers giving our e-cigs to the kids at snacktime or something?

This. So many people hate freedom and many people loathe happiness in others. Some people love power and want to push their morality onto everyone. Put those together and you have the nanny state.
I don't think it is anything that dramatic. I suspect that most people could care less what people do inside their homes or cars as long as they don't annoy others. Based on this thread, it seems pretty clear that a fair amount of folks just don't like inhaling other people's smoke or expelled vapors.
Then there is the whole cancer thing that has already overloaded our health and insurance systems.

These are the same people that tried to outlaw happy hour 10 years ago. MADD, and their counterparts, are out of control.

smoke i understand, but we are all exhaling vapors. It feels like the next thing on the agenda is keeping your piss in plastic bottles so it never "contaminates" our aquifers.

My friend is using them, originally to help him stop smoking, which it did, but now he enjoys those so much he has no plans of quitting. I've never been a smoker so I don't understand that, but whatever.
The FDA approval thing is interesting because I'm curious as to what goes in those things. I find it hard to believe they are completely harmless.
What annoys me about them, though, and I think it's been brought up already, is that since it's not a cigarette, he has no problem "vaping" inside. By himself in his house is fine, but we both went to a friend's kid's birthday party a while back, and he's blowing that vapor out around 10 other kids. I feel that's very inconsiderate and would still go outside to do it if I were him. We went out with some friends the other night, I drove, and him and another guy were passing it back and forth like it was a joint and it stunk up my car for days.

Those kids shouldn't be out if they don't want to smell that
