Here's the rundown (aka both sides have the stupid):

Bundy's family grazes cattle on public land (upwards of 90% of Nevada's land is publicly owned).
BLM is formed and starts charging grazing fees to ranchers on public land and in exchange maintains that land.
Bundy's family pays the grazing fees and the BLM maintain the land.
BLM changes their policy without the ranchers' consent. The continue collecting fees but cease to maintaining the land for cattle and instead focus on preserving native wildlife.
Bundy stops paying the percentage of his fees that would go to the BLM due to them not holding up their end of the bargain.
14 years later, the BLM seizes some of Bundy's cattle as restitution for his $1,000,000+ in owed grazing fees.
Bundy arms himself and tells the BLM there will be blood if they try to take the rest of the cattle.
BLM brings a small army of armed police and armed paramilitary personell.
Bundy assembles hundreds of "militia" to defend his cattle against the BLM.
Journalists expose that the land Bundy has been grazing his cattle on is being sold by the BLM to a Chinese energy company to develop a multi-billion dollar solar plant. Both Senator Harry Reid and his son are heavily involved in the project.
Fearing media backlash, the BLM backs off in order to avoid bloodshed (they didn't want another Waco on their hands).

Decide for yourselves who's right. I think everyone's wrong and I'm just glad no one died because of it.

Think I'm siding with Bundy.

Feds renege on their end of the deal, and then the Feds are selling it to the Chinese?

Yeah, frick the Feds. Bundy is DEAD ON.

you can't just decide to not pay just because they reneged. fight them in court, not with guns.
