A hog charges and tries to hit you one or two times then retreats which allows you to catch him by the back legs. You can move out of his way pretty good because hogs typically won't keep chasing.
They charge and retreat and are more defensive.

Maybe out in the middle of the woods when it's just easier for them to run off. I'd assume in a confined area they'll continue to charge you.
