Grew up bewtween Jackson and Port Hudson. Had one climb a tree while I was hunting. All I could do was hit it in the face with the butt of the rifle since the tree limbs were only cleared for a shooting path out not down. I wouldn't say it was a "black panther" but it was a big arse cat with yellow eyes and squealed like a scalded baby.

Yeah...see...that never happened.

Not sure what is so funny to you guys.

Cougars/pumas/mountain lions are known to cover areas anywhere from 400-500 miles. There are eatimates of over 31,000 cougars in the western US. And some have been found as far east as New York state. The estimated population of panthers in Florida alone are over 150. And their have been confirmed reports of them in both Louisiana and Georgia. Free ranging cats can be any place their four legs want to take them. Yeah, they may not be black in color. But who is to day their coat is not dark brown? You don't even belueve they exist. Do your research. They are all over the North American continent. And I have yet to say they were a "black panther", i said they were large cats. Who would think a bull shark would be caught in the Mississippi River near Illinois? You guys don't know everything and it is pretty amusing to see your posts refuting this stuff. You may hunt and fish, but that doesn't make you an animal biologist.
