I realize that this country has turned, and the march toward socialism has started.

This quote is one that will be wiped away in time(as many others will). Things will be rewritten. But for now, I know the thoughts of the founding fathers(another area of attack for the left).

quote:

I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. If we run into such debts, we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and in our comforts, in our labor and in our amusements. If we can prevent the government from wasting the labor of the people, under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy.”

Yes...amazing that an increase in CO2 in the atmosphere and/or a tiny increase in global temps means that dramatic actions are required. Changes in lifestyles, etc.

BUT, double the National Debt.....crickets

I'm not sure you know what this term means. Massive redistribution of assets does not equal socialism.

I think your "march toward socialism" comments are loony tune, but I agree with you that one our biggest problems is the debt. Actually I think deficits in perpetuity are the bigger problem...but we're on the same page.

Does anyone talk about inflation anymore? I have an underlying fear that we will be seeing inflation come and give a knockout punch. Am I wrong in feeling this way?

Alexander Hamilton had a very different view and, ultimately, the prevailing view.
