Roy, I ran a wedge type on a performance hull that wasn't the best example of a strong transom. 12 year old boat with no issues and a 300 on it so it wasn't a light motor.

Actually they remove it by stabilizing the motor.

I use one too. That doesn't mean I believe it's helping out the transom at all.
