Oh you silly Advocate headline writer....I see what you did there!
Here is the story...I don't really care about it...I just thought the headline was looney

Then Renatza came to the committee room table. He shook Badon’s hand, sat down beside him and advised legislators to slam the brakes on the bill.
“It always starts with lessening the penalties. It ends up with issues toward legalization. For that reason alone, we’re opposed,” Renatza said.
With Renatza’s statement, the debate took on an edge.
One committee member, state Rep. Steven Pylant, said drug use rips apart families.
Pylant, R-Crowville, is a former sheriff.
“It’s a shame and disgrace for us to do anything to minimize the consequence of drug use,” Pylant said.

Pylant is a disgusting, barbaric POS. same goes for anyone who opposes pot reform.

In contrast to another House bill that would eliminate jail time entirely the first and second times someone is caught with a small amount of marijuana, HB14 would decrease the penalties for some simple possession convictions. A second conviction would be punishable by up to two years in prison, instead of up to five years. A third conviction would be punishable by up to five years, instead of up to 20 years. Prosecutors would no longer be able to use simple marijuana possession convictions to send offenders away for life as habitual offenders.
The absolute stupidity in this is astounding. Politicians walk after getting DUI's and people are put in Prison for pot. Ridiculous.

Joe Ray Gauthier This reminds me of not very long ago when the legislator's first brought up the life term prison sentence for distributing heroin. They said is was cruel and unusual punishment to incarcerate a person for life and they then weakened the prison penalty. Tell that to all of the people who have recently buried their loved ones for overdosing on heroin. I told my wife before they did this that the coroner should buy extra body bags. I don't look at it as a money maker, I look at it as helping to keep our communities sober and civilized. Who in their right mind would want to be around stoned people everywhere you go? 8 hours ago

What do we have to do to purge the world of low IQ fricks like this guy?

Doug, what you don't understand is by breaking the law, it does affect other lives. If someone is high everyday, how can they hold down a job to support their own choice of habit. That's any easy answer, its called theft or robbery. I have never arrested anyone for stealing from themselves or robbing their ownself. And for the record, everyone that I have ever arrested did affect other people or at least had the propensity to affect other innocent lives. Before I ever put the cuffs on anyone, I first put my feet in their shoes. I would rather let 10 crooks go due to a lack of evidence or a weak probable cause then to arrest one innocent person. So, when I put the clamps on someone, they more than deserved it. It certainly sounds to me like you would like to see no laws, courts or jails. That I find to be amazing. Our minds are as different as day and night. 3 hours ago

Doug: My eye is on knowing the difference between what's right and what's wrong. For anyone to alter their minds with any substance legal or illegal is wrong. If God intended for people to be drunk, He would have created mankind to be drunk and certainly not send them to hell over it. My belief is based exclusively in the bible. God said it's wrong and as for me, I am not going to argue with or debate God. That's one event you will miserably loose. I don't understand how you and so many other people can defend drugs of any kind. Y'all obviously don't fully understand the full ramifications and horrible consequences that drugs and alcohol has caused throughout history. It has destroyed people and families. If you have seen and witnessed what I have witnessed in my lifetime concerning this issue, it would literally break your heart and without doubt, change your mind. 4 hours ago

I saw that guy too. At least he is retired. But its people like him that keep La stupid. After 30 yrs as a cop he still equates pot with heroin, and then brings god into the mix. Does he even realize that pot is a plant that god mustve created?

Its like he, and people like him, actively try to remain stupid. There is so much info out there, a google search away, that it must really take an effort.
