quote:You are correct. First bad semester = probation. Another one and you're out. You have to get elsewhere and get your GPA about a 3.0 or whatever it is now and then you can be re-admitted. Sitting out doing nothing doesn't change a thing.
I don't think you can just flunk out of LSU leave for 1 semester and come back with everything A OK.

I left LSU with one class left with a GPA of around 2.0. When I decided to go back and finish I was readmitted with out an issue. I did have to write a letter to the dean of my college explaining my reasoning for leaving in the first place but I didn't have any problems once that was done.

Mick,
False. My roommate freshman year failed first semester so was placed on probation. He then failed his second semester and was dropped from the university. He sat out that fall then was readmitted on a probationary status that following spring, where he had to make at least a 2.5 for the semester. He made a 3.something that spring he came back and ended up getting his degree. Once you are scholastically dropped from LSU, you are required to sit out at least 1 semester. What one does with that time is up to them, but if they want to sit out they can.
ETA: Hammertime is right hahaha I remember my buddy telling me how easy that EDCI 1001 was. He said his teacher acted like a kindergarten teacher and would spoon feed everything.

GPA has to exceed a 2.0 for readmission.
You are allowed to register for summer only classes at LSU no matter your GPA.
A business venture caused me to fail two semesters in a row...on an epic scale. Screwed my GPA up...one summer class then back in.
