I have Apache plants. They will not make this year, unless those are 2nd year canes. if they are, you should get a few. The real payoff will begin next summer.
Apache blackberries are some of the biggest. They will be as big around as your thumb and about half as long. They taste great; just let them FULLY ripen on the vine or they will be tart. My only complaint is the seeds, which are also large. Don't break a tooth.
Apache is fully erect, not trailing. So they will not use the trellis. But it may come in handy next year, providing good tie points. The vines get really heavy and cannot always fully support the weight of the berries. With 8 plants, you will get more berries than you thought possible. I have 12 and we froze probably 50 pounds last year. Four times that went bad on the vines. This year I will have a friend make blackberry wine with what we cannot use.
Oh, and watch out for this guy. He will wipe you out.
