That's really depressing. There's likely an underlying cause for this. Does this individual suffer from some form of PTSD or schizophrenia?

Does he have a disfiguring skin condition or perhaps developed a bone deformity or growth? Seems kind of odd that any individual would shut out the world and end all relationships for no apparent reason.
