You made my point. It can be a legitimate expression of personal freedom, but it is at best a mundane, mildly hedonistic act, that signifies nothing of any real value other than your claim to have a positive mood adjustment. When Pot Culture gets all self-important and pretends it is on the Vanguard of Human Freedom, I must chuckle. I have never met a really successful adult who wanted their own flesh and blood children to become stoners. There IS a very common-sense, non-ideological reason for that.

I don't see a problem with that.

In the end, pot legalization may be the vehicle to get old stodgy fake fiscal conservatives to actually realize personal liberty is a right wing cause.

And how is that not a real value to me? It helps relax me after a long day of work. Helps ease my stress and helps comfort my aching back, knees and feet. I don't see what the problem is with that?

It's no more mundane or mildly hedonistic than people who enjoy caffeine, tobacco or alcohol.

Imho, this statement is part of the problem with the anti-legalization crowd (not a slight to you, you support legalization ). The fact that many people assume that most people that smoke pot are stoners is flat out wrong. No one assumes that if you drink alcohol you are an alcoholic. Pot should be treated the same as alcohol. Should you smoke pot and drive? No. Should you smoke pot and go to work? No. And most people would follow those rules.

I also think saying you can only smoke marijuana to get high as a negative is incorrect. If it was legal, I would most likely use edibles instead of smoking. I liked using marijuana in college since it would help with stress and migraines.
