I've been once. It really is a great outdoor town, and it's also a college town. Yeah, there are some hippies, but I think you're going to get that anywhere out west. I was there around the end of June and it was beautiful.

Ever since my couple of Montana trips, I've been checking in periodically on their winter weather. It doesn't seem too bad all the time. Seems like they have periods of 30s and 40s and sun for a while, then it can get freezeyourdickoff cold for a couple weeks, then it gets back to tolerable again. Also I think Bozeman is in a bit of a rain shadow where it's somewhat drier than surrounding areas.
