Yeah...saw that one yesterday while searching. I haven't had a dog in years, and was frankly shocked at the prices. Yellows and blacks are $1250.00, chocolates and whites are $1500.00 with full AKC registration.

As a dog buying novice...what is the benefit of an AKC registration? Are the dogs being bread to be more healthy? Assuring a better genetic make-up?

I'm seriously asking... I realize it's a bit of a crap shoot with any living thing, but if I'm going to drop that much money on a pet I'd like to think the additional cost is for a reason that matters to me.
