I hate to break it to you, but the shortage is now. Louisiana needs twice as many tradesman as it has and they all need to be able to pass a drug test.

If you aren't afraid to work with your hands and can show up to work and pass a drug test, you can start at $15/hr working 6 10s as a helper. If you agree to go to trade school, you can be up to 20-30/hr in just a few years. Sure, you'll work shitty hours, but you can quit your job and take off for a few months whenever you want and then always have a job waiting for you when you want to work.
