Makes sense.
Sometimes when I watch Shark Tank, I'm convinced they invest due to "charity."
Think of it this way. Keep throwing money into traditional charity money pits or give this dude 50k for their business plan that has some odds against it? Especially if you're a billionaire, it's equivalent to 50 bucks.

yeah i made a thread on that last year. john stossel has a pretty famous interview with ted turner when turner gave like $1B to the UN. that $1B would help a lot more people if it were invested in a successful company
