Yep... the Aisin AW4 is about as bulletproof a tranny you'll find.
The Aisin 6 speed is an option on the 2500/3500...otherwise you're getting the Chrysler 6 speed.

They are adequate at stock levels but far from bulletproof. Aisin has laid a few eggs too, the 5-speed auto shared between Jeep and Nissan Titan comes to mind.

Yeah...they did screw that one up... but I stand by the statement that a stock aisin trans is usually more than adequate for whatever application it is in.
