First off, just for those who don't understand, due to the pending (or then already levied, I can't remember) NCAA sanctions, LSU could not have hired Pearl in 2012.

Pearl comes with baggage, no question. However, lest we forget, there was some issue of Jones being a little dirty in the past as well. A lot of time has passed since then so it's mostly forgotten today. Nonethless, as an LSU fan I'm not going to sit in my glass house and throw stones.

If you're AU, you run the risk that your program will be under tougher scruitny and that compliance issues may crop up in the future. However you're getting a guy that has won at every stop, D-II National Champ., UW-Milwaukee, Tenn. He's also shown to be able to bring great enthusiasm to an otherwise lifeless program.

San Diego St. (Fisher) and UK (Cal) today, along with Okla. St. (Sutton) all run/ran the risk of catching a basketball "STD". I don't think they mind though because at least they are/were at the party mixing it up with the hot girls. It sure is a lot more fun than jerking off at home when you don't get asked to the dance.

And before we get all the feaux idealist coming in to tell us how they would much rather a "great" guy to coach their team, just remember that POS's who win, and win big, get statutes made of them, while "great" guys who lose get their walking papers.
