Please don't take this questions as a bashing or anything. As a Catholic growing up, this question never occurred to me, but since becoming an atheist, I've wanted to know what a believer thinks. Anyway, if you believe in evolution and are a Christian, does that mean that you don't believe in "The Fall" or original sin? If so, then what was Jesus saving us all from? It's entirely possible that I am not thinking of the full picture created in the New Testament.

I kind of don't take the stories in the Bible literally. I never have. Am I supposed to? I believe Jesus was real, a real man, but do I believe he walked on water? Do I have to? I think the point of Jesus was to teach us the way of living. How to respect others, be charitable, be good.
I could be way off base and that might be getting off topic.

I'm a Christian who believes the Bible shoudn't be taken literally. I think much of the meaning in the Bible should be questioned and debated so that a person of faith can reach his own conclusions about what it means to him.
