We can start our gameday morning by the pool, tailgate for a little while then head back for an afternoon swim and a shower before the game walking to/from the stadium.
My god dude, that's just a little bit more information that any of us need or care to know about your own personal business. Look at me. Look at me. Look at me! It's March and we already got our game day agenda planned out and lets tell everybody about it.

The metrorail does not go to the Galleria. Riding the rail and riding the bus system are two very different things.

No shite. I live in Houston.

No where in my post did I say anything about the metrorail.

I said the Houston Metro goes to the Galleria area. The bus system is Houston Metro. The Houston Metro bus system most definitely goes around the Galleria area.

Is the only thing you do all day long troll threads just to post negative shite? You must be the world's biggest hemorrhaging vagina.

Light rail from downtown to Relliant is legit. Done it a few times to Texans games and the Final 4 and it was nice. As far as riding the bus, no thanks. Never ridden the bus in Houston and never will.

Anyone know the best place to buy tickets? It's about $150 for upper deck seats.

Upper Kirby would be ideal location wise. Should be a shite show! Lots of fun coming to HTOWN this August...

Relax pal. Take a valium. I simply clarified for the guy between the rail and bus. For your info they are both the Metro. I would take the rail which does not service the Galleria, i would not take the bus which does.

Have you ever taken the rail?

Pretty ignorant comment.

Trying to use a work discount but my properties are limited being that it is Labor Day Weekend. So to the Houstonites which of these would be the best mixture of nightlife and being on Metro route (or if none apply)

- Sheraton Suites by Galleria

- Westin Oaks by Galleria

- St. Regis Houston

- Westin Houston, Memomrial City

I live in Houston. If you must stay in the Galleria area (probably because the wife wants to shop there), there are some hotels within walking distance that are much cheaper than the Westin Oaks or Westin Galleria (which are in the Galleria). The St. Regis is VERY expensive. Westin Memorial City is way out west and not recommended for reasons of inconvenience. Sheraton Suites Galleria is probably good depending on price. People are suggesting Hotel ZaZa (because it is very close to Metrorail), but it is also very expensive.

There is a Metro bus line that can take you from the Galleria to downtown within a few blocks of the Metrorail (the 82 bus), but you wouldn't be comfortable riding that from downtown back to the Galleria after the game on Saturday night (unless you're stout-hearted and/or used to riding the subway in NYC or similar). 99.9% of the time you will have NO PROBLEM riding the 82 bus from downtown to the Galleria - you just get on the bus, sit down and mind your own business and everything is great. You would have to walk a few blocks from the Metrorail station to the bus stop. Or you could catch a cab downtown back to the Galleria and it would probably cost $20. If you stay in the Galleria you will undoubtedly meet some other LSU fans and you could split the cost of a cab with them - 4 ride for the same price as 1. Best bet is to find a hotel that has a shuttle and call them and ask if their shuttle can take you to the stadium. There is a hotel downtown which is 1/2 block from Metrorail station - Courtyard by Marriott downtown at the corner of Dallas and Main, and it's not too expensive. There is some but not a lot of nightlife downtown.

Hope this is helpful. I don't claim to know more than hundreds of other Houstonian Tiger fans, but I just felt like acting like a know-it-all.

If you really want to go to the Galleria a day or so prior to the game---say, to shop or something---it's a relatively short drive from downtown. Gameday, I'd light rail it to/from the stadium if I didn't live here; hell, I might get a room DT just to party and take the rail anyways.

This would be a solid play..

St Regis for sure if you get work discount.

I'm SPG platinum and have stayed at all. Only other option is Westin Galleria.

It couldn't have been more obvious that I was talking about the rail. I even mentioned that the buses run in the area.

So since you knew that the bus system is the Metro, you knew what I was saying

The part that sucks for this game is that the gates to the parking lot don't open until 4 hours until kickoff. This was enforced for the MSU/OK St game last year from what the okie fans are saying on their board (buddy of mine from houston asked about this today). There is not much in terms of private lots in the area either.

We need to start petitioning the stadium management to open up that 4 hour window asap.
