This is just some random internet picture, but snapper have been caught while pulling stretch baits. If they're feeding, not sure why you couldn't catch them on some sort of crankbait.

Best part about using those stretch baits for grouper and snapper is that if you get hung up on the structure, the bait typically floats back up to the top and you can reuse it. Its a good feeling when you see a 20 lure floating on the surface.
