I literally just did the same thing. The lightning miracles are so much better than soul arrows, I really wish I went this route at first.
I also have a Lightning Murakumo +7 sword.... thing tears people up. Just beat like 8 Bell Tower invaders in a row.

Boy George is the worst cooperative partner ever. We start at the same time and he's damn near beat the game while I'm halfway through. I'll take my chances with whiskey Steve now.
