I remember when the WWW had nothing graphical and nothing other than access to libraries of text documents with hyperlinks to other text documents. You could get miles deep into these and forget what you were originally searching for or why you were there to begin with. For entertainment there were local dial-in message boards you could access and chat and post messages. There was some really weird shite on some of them and some really good informative ones.
