My choice would also be a Toyota Camry. The Kia Optima is a sporty car in that price range that I would consider as well.

Head good things about the Buick regal. Loved the Hyundai Tucson too (small SUV).
People seem to really like the Mazda 6 or the SUV they make.
Personally I think the best deal is often in the financing of a new car--if you can't get less than 2% go get financing at PenFed
