You have to keep in mind that most people don't absorb information at the same level as others. Things click for other people at different times. Sometimes successive viewings are needed for slower (when it comes to movies ) and more analytical viewers such as myself.

You don't want me to Sobchak this thread, so we'll keep it light.

I'll give one answer:

Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Thought it was brilliant the first time. After a few more watches, it might just be a masterpiece.

(Note: I don't think the film "gets better," I think I am better able to judge it against similar films. I enjoy the heck out of it every time I watch it)

You can write some insufferable stuff.

Masterpiece?

As Gordon Gecko would say..."another dog with fleas."

You start to like the fleas...and then fall in love with the dog.

I can agree with the fact that a film is the same thing the first time as it is the fifth time. However, you notice things after different viewings. It's all perception and personal opinion. I'll leave it at that.

First thing I thought of when clicking this thread. Liked it the first time I watched it and just recently watched it again and loved it. Fantastic film.
