but much of that community revolves around pirated peer to peer exchanges if I understand what private trackers are (which I may not).

yep, essentially better copies of shows i already pay for with DISH but fail for whatever reason to DVR it when it aired. so is it my fault my power went out and i missed the show? sorry DISH makes such a shitty product. if they made all the tv shows available to me on demand i wouldn't go somewhere looking for them.

Western Digital is good for playing pirated stuff you find online without having to go through unnecessary or complicated steps.

let me reprhase that; WD isn't bowing to the corporate Gods that make something as simple as a CODEC unavailable on your PC for watching a video.

go look up the shenanigans you have to go through to install a MKV codec onto your Windows PC.

Microsoft has gone so far as to label the '007 shark' site as MALWARE because they figured out a simple solution to add more CODEC formats to your PC.

That pisses me off and it should piss you off.

Apple is no better. They bow to their Hollywood masters and make all the video & audio so ridden with DRM its practically impossible to enjoy.

I have no idea what you are upset about. You called me a troll for explaining your post to someone and then got defensive as if I had attacked you in some way.

I've been using the VLC player for every codec/format known for years
