a 350 lber eating all the bacon he wants just no carbs is a fricking terrible idea anyway
It's a bit more complex than that.

I've gone from 337 to 252 in 16 months going low carb - breakfast is one of the shakes or egg beaters omelette with a protein, usually deli meat in the eggs, occasionally bacon/sausage. Lunch is a salad 90% of the time with a protein that's left over from dinner and a light amount of dressing, sometimes even a can of tuna on top of lettuce and pickles. Dinner is a mix of grilled/baked chicken, porkchops, shrimp, steak (usually one ribeye per week), etc - whatever is leftover I'll mix with the salads for lunch the next day at work. Snacks - pork rinds, beef jerky, pistachios, etc.
It's not that hard of a diet, and if your friend really wants to lose weight it's an easy way to do it. Just make sure to keep count of the calories from the proteins and hit the treadmill to burn it off, and don't get crazy with the beefs/bacon/ultra cholesterol meats.
I also cut out soda's completely. Haven't had one in over a year. I drink exclusively water, black coffee, the Nestea bottled diet green tea (not the sparkling bc that's carbonated), the occasional powerade zero.
I'm running now as well instead of walking on the treadmill for the first time in a decade or two. Burning 500+ calories in a comfortable jog in 25 minutes is rad.

I like the idea behind the Alli pills for weight loss myself.
They don't do that much themselves for losing weight, but they ensure that you stick to a moderate, balanced diet, or else!![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)
