im looking to buy a scope and ive narrowed it down to these two scopes...they are in my price range but i wanna ask the OB which would be better. how reliable are the quick release mounts?
Scope 1: NcStar Mark III Tactical Mil-Dot 3-9X42/Scope Adaptor Mount/Red Dot Combo
Scope 2: AIM Sports Inc CQB Combo 3-9x40 Scope/Red Dot/Picatinny Mount/P4 Sniper Reticle JSRPC01
or
AIM Sports Inc CQB Combo 3-9x40 Scope/Red Dot/QR Mount/Mil-Dot Reticle JSRMC01
(Scope 2 is pretty much the same scope except one has a quick release and the other has a traditional mount...)

I'm not here to bash the scopes you have picked out. But I've seen the nc star one and in my opinion it's junk. It tries to do to many things and instead it doesn't accomplish anything. If you want a red dot then buy a red dot. If you want a scope buy a scope. If I were you I would look at the primary arms brand of red dots and scopes. They are a great company to deal with and make quality stuff, some of which is in your budget

well this is for kinda short range stuff like hog hunting...i figured i could shoot up to about 100 yards maybe 125 with that scope and anything close with them running use the red dot....but what about the AIM Scopes

For sub $150 I'd go with Primary Arms.

yeah no offense to the OP but ncstar is garbage
if you want a red dot with a magnifier you can get a vortex strikefire for less than 150
it comes with a screw on/off 2x magnifier

For an AR platform you should look at the primary arms 1x4 - if you want close range and 125 might be your longest shot thats all you need, than you eliminate any need for an attached red dot.

I agree. Admittedly, I'm not into the "tactical" market and I have NO experience w/ the other company, but I do have some experience w/ NcStar. My first NcStar handgun scope was installed on a 30 Alaskan Bower (similar to a 308 Win) Contender barrel. It literally came apart near the end of the first season. Credit to them, they sent me a second one which I put on a 22LR handgun. It's done ok so far. I also have a pair of 16X NcStar binocs. They're VERY poor quality. I didn't pay much for them, but they're not worth what I did pay. I'd suggest you scratch from your list anything w/ NcStar on the label.

You're way better off finding a 1-4 vortex then wasting money on that garbage.
