Saw it this weekend. Can't wait. The $110 membership is awesome because of the cash back!

You gotta figure they'll have some sort of special discounted membership when they enter the market. Shoot, around this time last year we got a Sam's Club membership through Groupon: $45 for a membership and you got a $25 gift card along vouchers for a free rotisserie chicken, a take and bake pizza and a dozen cookies from the bakery.

They did for the nola one. I think they packaged it with the elite membership, you got a whole bunch of extra stuff with it similar to what you are mentioning.

Surely they take Visa credit cards unlike Sams?

I assume he has an AMEX as that's the only credit card Costco takes.
I enjoy the cash back I get on the cheaper gas and goods.

The Executive Membership ($110) gets you 2% cash back on purchases.
Regular membership is $55 -- they just ran a living social deal with a free chicken, $20 cash card and batteries.
Don't go into Costco expecting you'll save money right off the bat. You'll drop some change fast your first time in there.

Won't be shopping there then.
