For a typical Dr's salary you need to take 150,000 x 3

Second, my version of comfortable is greater than your version of comfortable. So to answer your question $1M/year

I have several friends that are doctors and they make way more than $150k. More like $400-500k and up.

But ObamaCare may change that although that is a topic for another discussion.

If you spend freely (eating out >4x a week, 2 vacations a year, overseas trips every year, expensive clothes bought every month, etc. ) then you need at least 200k with 2 kids to even keep your head above water.

If you are frugal, plan and try to adhere to a budget, I believe you can provide everything your kids could need and want, including a nice house with a family income of 100-115k.

Doctors make way more than this.

College degree and MBA can put you right at 150-200 range in the finance accounting fields. Might not even need the MBA.

Nope. Not a doc and definitely don't want any kids - regardless
of my income. I'll take a dog over having kids any day. I'm sure I'm in the minority - different strokes for different folks.
My heart goes out to kids - especially the under privileged.
Just don't ever want to own any.
