The first one makes no sense. Nazism and Fascism are big government systems. Both are left wing..Nazis were a socialist party.
Anarchism is a far right wing ideology. No Government.
I would put Nazism and Fascism on the far left and Anarchy on the far right, then add in Libertarianism on the lean right freedom scale and move Conservatism a little further right since social Conservatives like to use Government to limit freedom.

I would sort of agree, but too many things are confused and combined in the first chart.
These are the issues:
How much control should the government have over the people?
How much of that control should be over behavior v. economic power?
You could argue that the 2nd chart is screwed up because left and right economic control is also a form of up and down control. I think it is the best you can do, because it asks how much government control do you want over economic issues.
A better method would be to use two data points instead of one, and draw a line between them.
For example, my line would go from far right on economic issues down to far left on social issues.
