Hopefully this contest is not a preview of what's to come.

New commissioner, new rules.
David Stern is from the Napoleon Bonaparte/Danny Devito school: small man, big impression. He may not be large, but he's gargantuan.
On the flight to New Orleans for the first Sternless All-Star Game of my career I had a fleeting thought: Was All-Star possible without Stern? Or, for that matter, was the NBA? Maybe Stern was everything. CEO-as-bedrock.
So it's no surprise the lion's share of the news that Adam Silver is the new NBA commissioner has been built around the idea that Stern stepped down after three decades. Stern's absence has been the real headline. To the extent Silver has been defined it has generally been vs. Stern -- for instance, he's taller, younger, more of a consensus-builder etc.
Hopefully this contest is not a preview of what's to come.

Are they going to let the NBA stay a mixed race league?? Or do you think they'll just restrict it to the best??

Starting to miss Stern.....

I do think the draft lottery desperately NEEDS to be changed. Every team should have every incentive there is to try to win every game.

This probably just means a few feet in each direction. Probably not a big deal at all.

I want bigger courts but just big enough to not have that short corner 3
And frick 4 pointers.

Never know what it means really

I'm not saying I would be for or against this...but would it be the worst idea to have a 4 pointer be anything beyond halfcourt? Just playing devil's advocate.
I'm sure the implementation of the 3 point line met resistance, too.

So he's Roger Goodell of the NBA?

I hope he decides on chain nets for the goals

frick the 4-pointer.
We should be progressive and just skip straight to the 5-pointer. The shot of the future.

I like that. Fans aren't allowed on the court, but if the ball comes to them, they can shoot.
Would make these teams think before letting some old famous guy sit court side. Sure he's famous, but can he shoot?
