Lester, host company sent this email earlier today...might still be dealing with issues:
quote:

Dear Chicken -

Yesterday, at approximately 4:15 pm EST , our Operations Center received alerts indicating increase in latency and packet loss on our network. Within minutes, it was determined that an upstream provider had made some network changes that affected our entire network. Working with that vendor, the changes were rolled back at approx 4:35 but did not resolve the issue entirely. We proceeded to recycle some of our local equipment to resync everything and in the process of that, lost some recent settings within our equipment. That caused addtional downtime as we had to reconfigure some local equipment. The majority of everything was back 100% by approx 5:05 but additional downtime may have been seen on some devices. This longer duration was driven by the fact that while all servers were operational, many individual services (coldfusion, web servers, mail services etc) had to be manually restarted.

We understand how frustrating downtime can be and regret the disruption of your service.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.
