Is that a nas? I like that option too with the redundancy built in. You don't have to manually backup stuff multiple times.

We use a Seagate for local backup & Dropbox for the cloud. Don't rely on a single hard drive.

It's like a NAS but there's no building or configuring software. You can partition part of it for a backup too. If you watch drobo's video/ad they refer to it as "anti-RAID". It's basicly plug and play right out of the box. Best thing is you can buy value HD's instead of the pricier more dependable stuff because you can replace it on the fly.

Our home fire plan consists of grabbing children, pets, drobo, guns- in that order. I would love to back up remotely but I haven't found a single place online that will back up 8tb or an ISP that will let me upload that much.

I shoot a lot of photos in RAW, own a lot of movies and a shite ton of music. I'm about 75% full now but I'll wait for cheaper 8tb drives to come along and I'll start replacing for more storage. It's hooked up with FireWire 800 to my Mac but I'll eventually buy a new Mac with USB 3.0 and a new drobo housing and be set for another 5+ years.
