Great video.

It's a shame that happened. That really shouldn't be enough snow and ice to shut down a city. They needed salt and brine trucks ahead of that storm....looks like nothing was put out from some of those pictures, and clearly people were not warned to stay home. I heard the state moved those out to Mobile but not Birmingham because the forecast had predicted a more southern impact. Alabama is lucky more people were not hurt, given B'hams hilly terrain and abundance of elevated highways.

They paint the major roads here with that stuff all winter. It makes a huge difference in storms like that....provided drivers stay on the lanes and use caution.

Yeah the weather men got it wrong by 150 miles. Was supposed to be awful from Montgomery and south. Most of the sand trucks were sent south from bham. Then it fell, melted, and refroze and it was a sheet of ice on the roads. There are videos of people ice skating in the streets of downtown bham.
