It's in an elevated closet (built just to house water heater) in the garage which is attached to the house. It vents through the attic though. I do think some work on getting that part to current code may be needed, which could explain the higher estimate. I'm going to get several more though.

1/2 in 1/2 out installs are much higher bbecause ofnall the lost time and increased liability.
Did one of these installs last month. Took 3+ hours and cost $1600 total for materials and labor. Everything on it had to be brought up to code.
