Also, I disagree with people dismissing the early work as "pop bullshite" or something like that. I still jam to that early stuff every once in a while. Please Please Me, With The Beatles, Beatles for Sale, A Hard Day's Night and Help all have fantastic stuff.
Although I find myself in the uncomfortable position of agreeing with Heady . . . what he said.
Rubber Soul was a breakthrough album in a sense. But there were some real pop gems in in their early work.

The earlier more shallow pop teenage love type of songs still had great melodies. I want to hold your hand could not be much more banal in lyrical content, but for some reason I still really enjoy the flow and simple melody of the song. For Some reason Help will always be one of my favorite Beatles songs.

I love the Beatles early stuff and the seemingly limitless things they were able to do with two-minute, three-chord pop songs.

One of my favs of theirs.
Have to agree with the consensus of For You Blue or Get Back not being great. Not a big fan of Long and Winding Road either.
But FWIW when I think about some of the things that are being mass produced in the fashion that they were at one point, it's hard to say they had much of anything that sucked at all. Even their earlier stuff. I'd take their pop over a good majority of pop mass produced today.
