Funny that BO should date the neighborhood's renaissance to a murder....as the Freret strip's commercial decline dates from Bill Long's murder in his bakery back in '85. His deli/bakery was a cornerstone when the area included everything from a bike shop to a nursery.

Love it, Im on the other side of Claiborne from Freret, but consider it our neighborhood dining option. Good hardware store as well and the nursery.

Its close enough to be a real convenience without it being a burden. But the blocks between Freret and Claiborne are undergoing a massive transformation, as Glassman said.

Freret St. Po Boys opened post Cure but pre Company Burger. Company Burger was August 2011.
