Adam Henry was recruiting Brown also. He is from Beaumont. I don't know if we will ever know what happen with that situation.

Jets hire LSU's Thomas McGaughey as special teams coordinator LINK
LSU special teams coach Thomas McGaughey has been hired to the same position with the Jets, the team announced Wednesday night.
McGaughey, 40, replaces Ben Kotwica, who took the same job with the Redskins in mid-January. McGaughey's hire fills the only open coordinator position on head coach Rex Ryan's staff. Linebackers coach Brian VanGorder, now the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame, also departed after the 2013 season.
In 2013, Football Outsiders had LSU ranked 10th in the country in its Special Teams Efficiency rating. The Tigers also ranked in the top 10 nationally in STE in 2011 and 2012, per FO

Well I wish we had a board for this but I guess Chicken couldn't hold on just a few more weeks because the Coaching Changes Board was taking up bandwidth for the all important Soccer Board
I get so pissed when I try and click the O-T Lounge and accidently click on the Soccer Board.

Was he even that good of a coach though? I believe he came in for 2012 season (or was it 2011) and special teams has excelled in some areas but has been noticeably worse in others (punting especially). Kickoff coverage wasn't good this year either.

Who ever it is needs to be able to recruit. If not o probably a minority.

he came in 2011. on the whole, that was about the best special teams I've seen at LSU. the punt return coverage was pretty much at a historic level before that long Bama return on 1/9. Wing was still a star, placekicking was solid, return game good. of course a lot of that is player driven with guys like Tyrann, Brooks, ODB and Mo, but I always felt like he put a solid product out on the field no matter the unit.

We had given up a net gain of like 4 yards on punt returns on the season or something like that. And that's with a punter who boomed it.
Just insane

We are going to miss the guy IMO. I saw him several times correcting Les Miles on bad calls on the sideline last year.
